Why This Matters

From 2010 to 2017, 758 Georgia citizens lost their lives to firearms in domestic violence-related incidents. That’s enough to almost fill two Boeing 747 airliners. By enacting already existing federal legislation in the State of Georgia, we believe that our state could see the 14% reduction in domestic violence-related firearm deaths that other states who have adopted this legislation have seen. Watch the video above for an explanation of the issues and proposed legislation.

From 1988 to 2016, more officers were killed while responding to domestic disturbances than during drug-related arrests.
